April Bishop is a senior director of food safety with TreeHouse Foods where she leads a team of food safety professionals to support 40+ plants, including food safety training, food safety plans, food defense plans, sanitation, pest control, microbiology, allergen control, and all other things food safety related. Bishop led the TreeHouse team to win the 2017
Food Quality & Safety magazine’s Food Quality & Safety Award recognizing that TreeHouse Foods employs high product standards and expectations, demonstrates excellence across all categories in its submission, and has a commitment to investing in technology, improving employee training, HACCP implementation and utilizing audits.

Bishop has more than 20 years of experience in the food industry and is a 12-year member of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), founding the Nebraska chapter with several co-workers in 2009. She is an active member of 6 IAFP Professional Development Groups, the Alliance for Listeriosis Prevention, the National Pasta Association, American Peanut Council, and the Food Defense Consortium.

Liliana Casal-Wardle, Ph.D. has 25 years of experience in the private industry. She had technical and global leadership roles managing supply chain food safety and product quality at the Corporate level for The Hershey Company from 2002 to 2019. In this role she provided guidance and direction to more than two hundred facilities ranging from suppliers, internal facilities, external partners (co-manufacturing, co-packing, licensing, food service) and distributors, based in the US and internationally for product manufactured for regional, global and US markets. Casal-Wardle has managed a diverse group of food platforms within the scope of chocolate, sugar and snack manufacturing that span from high to low water activity products and commodities, with primary focus on food safety culture, risk mitigation, project and process design for brand and consumer protection. The complexity of this portfolio was enhanced by a diverse regulatory environment because of multi-country sourcing and global retail. Her specific areas of expertise include Supply Chain Food Safety, Food Safety Culture, Food Science, Food Defense, Cleaning and Sanitation practices, Environmental Microbiological Monitoring Programs, GFSI requirements and Quality Assurance, amongst others.
 
Casal-Wardle has a Ph.D.  from the Organic Chemistry Department of the University of Buenos Aires where she focused on structural and biological studies of Chagas Disease. She speaks three languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese) and has had the opportunity to reside in and be professionally active in Argentina, Australia, Brazil and the US. She is a certified SQF practitioner, Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) for FSMA compliance. She is a member of IAFP, IFT, PMCA and AACT.

Anthony Camparone has over 16 years of experience in the food industry as a Technical Manager for GFSI Schemes, performing audits, and managing food safety systems at Mars and Mondelez. He is currently the Technical Development Manager for SGS North America. Anthony has a B.S in Food Science from Kansas State University. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors hunting and fishing with family and friends. He resides just outside of South Bend, IN with his wife and 2 dogs.

John has over 25 years of executive management and business development experience in supply chain solutions, software and 3PL services. He has held senior positions at major companies including Kuehne + Nagel and Pitney Bowes and has been involved in the development of supply chain solutions for many Fortune 500 companies. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is based out of SGS’ offices in New York and is responsible for all Business Development activities for the Supply Chain solutions group in North America.

Rick has 30 years of B2B publishing experience. Early in his career, he worked on Food Processing and then Food Engineering magazines in sales and then a management role. After an E. coli outbreak in the Pacific Northwest killed four children and made national headlines, Rick recognized the gap in food industry trade journals and created a new media segment by founding Carpe Diem Communications, where he developed and launched Food Quality, the first trade magazine serving the food safety and quality market. He then developed the Food Quality Award and The Food Quality Conference & Expo as well as launched two other print magazines, Pharmaceutical Formulation & Quality and Contamination Control. Under his direction, Food Quality and Pharmaceutical Formulation & Quality received editorial excellence awards from The American Society of Business Publication Editors which included his own monthly column in Food Quality. In 2007, John Wiley & Sons, Inc. acquired Carpe Diem and Rick went to work as their Global Business Development Director for Life Sciences. In mid 2009, Rick continued his entrepreneurial interests with the development of Innovative Publishing Company, specializing in digital media and events. He developed the business model for Innovative Publishing Company with its first property, MedTech Intelligence, a digital magazine and e-newsletter coupled with a series of focused conferences, both online and onsite, serving the medical device and diagnostics industries.
